One of my favorite hobbies is to take pictures. Not too long ago I came up with an idea to do a series of pictures with an Eiffel Tower necklace charm I got off a bottle of perfume. The plan was to take the charm with me where ever I go and to take pictures of it in cute and sometimes random places. Then I would post the pictures on here in a section called Paris In My Pocket. This past 4th of July weekend I went camping with some family. I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to take pictures for the series. One afternoon my niece Katie and I decided to go on a few trails to take some pictures. Everything was going great we were laughing and talking about all the times we camped there when we were growing up. (we have a 7 year age gap) The pictures were turning out really well. And I was really excited to post them. Then we came to the hole.... The camp ground had been hit with a pretty big flood a few years back. Knocking out 2 bridges and carving off a bunch of the river side trails. This hole was the result of that flood. Looking threw it you could see the trail below as well as part of the river. I thought it looked kinda cool so I decided to take a few pictures. After the first one I reached down to move something in the hole. This was not a good idea. In the process of getting rid of the small tree debris. I dropped the Eiffel Tower! (The next few pictures are courtesy of Katie) Naturally I panicked fora bout half a minute. Luckily the hole it had fallen threw led to a ledge on the edge of the river. I had camped in this camp ground my whole life. So I knew there had to be a way down to the river from where we were standing. The only two questions were how am I getting down there? And how cold is this water going to be? (turns out it wasn't that cold) I immediately start looking around for the way down. Katie had told me "You're never going to get it. Its gone." I looked at her then back down at the river side and said "No I got this." I slid down the side of the trail to the small bank by the side of the river took my shoes off and climbed into the water. Ironically not too long before this had happened I had almost lost my charm in a current down the river. Katie had said "I was kinda hoping that you would have lost it. So I could get some bad ass pictures of you running down the river trying to save it." Little did she know she only had to wait about 10 minutes. Unfortunately Katie didn't get a shot of me in the water, but she did get some other really great shots of me on my Eiffel Tower "rescue mission". I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't of just went for it and climbed down to get it. It probably would have become another one of those nagging little what ifs in life that I don't need. I am really glad I was able to clime down and get it because this new photo series has been really fun to do. And I would of hated to have to stop just because I was clumsy and dropped the Eiffel Tower down a hole in the middle of the woods. I hope you got a kick out of this little story. And I hope you enjoy the Paris In My Pocket picture series as much as I have loved doing it. I promise more pictures will be up soon
XOXO That One Girl I recently lost some people who were very important to me, And this is a quote I have had to refer back to a few times myself. You have to keep living your life even after you lose someone. No matter how hurt you are. You need to find a way to start your life again and move forward. Live your life to the fullest so that when you see that person again you will have new stories to tell them.
xo That One Girl This song has literally become my new obsession. I don't know why its always the sad songs that I love most. Maybe that's why I love other artists such as Ed Sheeran so much. But that's beside my point right now. I have been a huge fan of 5 Seconds of Summer for a really long time now. I'm super existed that their debut album is FINALLY going to be out in the states in just a few short weeks. And if you hit play on this video *which I'm hoping you will* I promise you defiantly wont regret it. If you would like to preoder 5sos's album you can click here *once you have preodered the album 5 songs will download automatically. Including this one.* |
