It's been a while... 4 months to be exact. I've actually sat down a few times trying to think of something to say. I would start writing and then stop because I didn't think it was anything you wanted to hear, but the want to write something was always there. So I've decided to just bite the bullet and write. A few things have happened since I last posted anything on here. One of those things being I've decided to take a break from school. I put a lot of thought into this and online learning isn't for me. I'm more of a face to face one on one type learner. I don't grasp the material as well online as I do in person. It feels really weird not going back and in all honesty it sucks but its for the best. I do plan on going back. For now I'm looking for a full time job and when the time comes I will step foot back on campus. I recently started a mindfulness journal to help with my anxiety an clear my head. I haven't had a journal in years. It's actually been pretty fun as weird as that sounds. I've been designing each page before I write. I've been doing sort of collages they don't always have to do with what I'm writing that day. But its been kinda fun putting things together with pictures or magazine clippings and different quotes and stickers I've collected over the years. Enough of the blah blah blah lets get onto the title of today's post. I had been having a bunch of problems with my phone. I would delete photos or videos and wipe my trash folder and the next day everything would be back on my phone (and no I didn't click recover) my apps were always forcing close and texts were taking forever to send. So last Sunday I decided to to do the every so logical thing and turned my phone off and on. Except it didn't turn back on. It would get to the apple screen and then start over stuck in a never ending loop. I went into Verizon and asked them about my warranty since I only had my phone for 4 months. They respond with "have you tried turning it off and back on?" I explained to them that turning it off and on didn't work, plugging it in didn't work, and the safety mode one two three button thing didn't work either. I may look blonde and dumb but I'm not. They then put me on the phone to tech support to ask them what was wrong. Tech support kept telling me they sent a text to my phone that I needed to reply to so they could find out what was wrong with my phone. Small problem, I couldn't get into my phone to get said text. The guy working at the store then called another number which had a longer than normal wait time. So I found myself a place to sit and listened to the hold music for the next half hour. Finally someone answered I explained to them what was wrong with my phone and they asked me "did you turn it off and on?" Is there some kind of stupid customers hand book where rule number one is ask them to turn it off and on. Its 2020 by now turning something off and on again is basic logic. After explaining to them all the things that my phone couldn't do they then put me on hold again. The guy at Verizon then put into my file that my phone was stuck in a loop to not try and text me and to not ask me to turn it off and back on. Another half hour had gone by and a new person answered the phone. Turns out they had sent me to the wrong person so she needed to "shoot me over to someone else" So I sat and waited. That last slate wasn't a joke by the time the guy she "shot me over to" answered the phone he answered asked me for my name my number and my pin then hung up on me. For real he freaking hung up on me. He didn't say he was going help support still had about 4 hours tell close. Tell today I still have no idea why he hung up on me. By this point a very nice lady named Amy who works at Verizon took over. She called a number and got everything straitened out in less then 5 minutes. It was all set my warranty was activated and I was to have a new phone on my door step on Wednesday. I went home and put my sim card into my old literally beaten up iPhone 7s just so I could have access to my phone for the next few days. My 7s has a busted screen and when I make calls the person on the other line can barley hear me. Wednesday comes and goes with no phone. I decided to give it another day. Thursday comes and goes. Still no phone. On Friday I borrowed my mom's phone and decided to call tech support and ask why my phone wasn't there. The lady on the other line said that the reason I hadn't gotten my phone was because it showed on my profile that I had an active and working iPhone 7s linked to my account. I explained to her that I put my sim card into my old phone so I could talk to people and have a phone in case of emergencies. She kindly informed me that was a bad idea. She said it doesn't matter what kind of phone you have or what nework you use if it shows a phone active on your account then they will not send you a new phone. Due to the fact that people used to pretend things were wrong with their phone activate the warranty or insurance and then sell the new phones when they got them. So I went threw it all again. Half hour on hold to get transferred to a person who then asked me the magic question of "Did you turn it off and on" after explaining to the guy I had already gone threw all of this and all I wanted was the phone they promised to send me, he then told me "oh well I don't know how to access that I have to transfer you." another half hour on hold. A lady then finally wants to actually listen to me reads my profile an wants to help me out. But its going to take a while to get this all reversed. Again no joke. 3 hours later and some random singing from the girl on the other line as well as some really annoying hold music. The lady I was talking to finally convinced tech support that I really did need a new phone and that it needed to be sent to me right away. I've been with Verizon for 10 years now and I have never had anything like this happen. I had a problem with them taking a second line off my account a few years ago but that's it. I got my phone in the mail today thank you FedEx and now I can officially send in more job applications. I promise this isn't going to turn into a boring rant page. The only other thing I have going on right now is a dentist appointment on Wednesday. So I figured getting hung up on and treated like a dumb blonde was more interesting. I do have plans for this page more blog posts more than just Coffee Break. I also plan on updating the baking section and working on a few more short stories. I've written a couple more Connor and Morgan stories I've been wanting to share. Keep your eyes pealed because I want to turn this into a weekly thing. XO That One Girl

I figured starting off the first round of blogs of the new beginning with a Coffee Break was appropriate. For those of you who don't know the Coffee Break series is where I do most of my chatty type blogs. Such as whats going on in my life, things I want to talk about, or just where I come to just get things off my chest. Kind of like an open journal just with out the really personal stuff. Before I came back and started writing again I wanted to take some time and redo the website in a whole. Each page has a new banner attached to it aside from my 3 *yes there's 3* Paris In My Pocket pages. I also have a new layout as well as home page. Which most of you might not have even noticed, because lets face it how many people actually go to the home page of a website anymore? As for the blog part of the website I'm still working with ideas on what to put on the side. The small calendar might not stay and I know for a fact that the old pictures of me at the top will be replaced. I just need to find the right ones first. Thursday's blog post will be the long awaited throw back Thursday to my Spring Break trip to New York. It will be chocked with details of what happened during the day as well as pictures. Some of you might think that it's been too long for me to remember everything that happened on that trip. Fortunately I'm the type of person who likes to take pictures of everything as well as keep small notes on my phone of things I want to remember to talk about in my blog. I also took videos that I'm not sure will make it on here anytime soon. So trust me when I say this is one blog you don't want to miss. Speaking of pictures I have recently taken my photography more seriously and started my own photography I guess you would call it business. It is called TrickShot Photography. Because lets face it I have to get my nickname on everything right? I have an Instagram set up so far, I want to add some pictures on here as well as make a separate website all together for my photography. I will still be doing fun things like my photo challenges *new one coming soon* and Paris In My Pocket. I just wanted to branch out more and do portraits and other such things. I have a couple of Connor and Morgan stories I also want to get on here soon. I have a bunch of different story ideas bouncing around in my head. But I don't want to put anything on here until its all officially finished. I don't want to do one of those "come back next week for part 2" stories because I wouldn't be able to promise when each part would be out. So for now the stories that I put on here will all be short stories. That I like and hopefully you all like as well. Thank you for sticking it with me threw this not so planned break. I hope you guys plan on sticking around for what is next. XO That One Girl
My packing is officially done. It took me a lot longer than it should have to be honest, but that's only because I left all of my laundry until the last minute. I also had to make an emergency run to the store and buy new headphones because I totally smashed mine tonight. In the end the list has been checked and triple checked. Now is the chill time before I get onto the shuttle to the airport at 3 am. I'm currently sat here watching season 8 of Grey's Anatomy, for those of you keeping score at home that is 3 more seasons sense the last coffee talk. Yes I know I'm addicted. I have it playing in the background all day. Season 6 was my least fav so far and I will full on admit that I am not a fan of Teddy. I tried giving her a shot but she really just pisses me off. I know I said I would probably watch Grey's on the plane but I ended up buying a book instead. I bought the first official Stranger Things novel. It's called Suspicious Minds by Gwenda Bond. The story takes place in the summer of 69 *Que the song.* Terry Ives is set out to uncover the mysteries of the new Government experiment MKULKTRA in Hawkins Indiana run by Martin Brenner. While she is fighting against Martin *aka PaPa* she meets 008. I am so excited to start reading this book. I snatched up the last copy and couldn't be happier about it. If you would like to keep up with my goings on in New York keep an eye out on my Instagram I will be posting stories and pics all week. As well as vloging as much as I can for everyone to see. Hey that one fam I know its been a few weeks sense my last post, this month has been both the longest and busiest I have had this year so far. My niece's wedding was a lot of fun she looked so beautiful. The whole wedding was really unique and a perfect reflection of her style. She really did have the greatest group of girls standing up for her that day. All though I might be a little bias. School has been crazy this past week. Everyone is basically running around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to get ready for finals week. I spent a good part of my week finishing up a 250 point paper for my Cultural Anthropology class. I wasn't too sure about this class in the beginning but I've really learned to enjoy it. I have been thinking of taking anther Anthro class next year. I have one final next week and then its off to spring break. When I haven't been studding for finals or getting ready for New York I have been strangely addicted to Grey's Anatomy. In fact it has taken me forever to get this blog post typed out because I keep getting distracted by season 5. I had been a fan of the show before but not an avid watcher. *If that makes sense.* A couple weeks ago I wanted to put something on as background noise while I was doing homework and decided on Grey's. I haven't been able to stop watching it sense. At this point I have a feeling that I will probably be watching it on the plane. I don't have much to complain about when it comes to this show. Except the fact that they should have done a little bit more research into Izzy's story line before they shot the episodes. I live in the town her character is from. I have lived here my whole life, there is no pregnant girl class at the high school pregnant girls go to class like everyone else. The trailer park she is from is technically not a trailer park its a camp ground. But other than that everything else seams to be spot on. New York is officially 9 days away! I have already started packing. Not a whole lot just the accentuates and an outfit I plan on wearing when we go to see Chicago. I haven been trying to keep any eye on the weather app to see what it will be like when we go. The weather wont make up its damn mind first it was snowing then it was raining and now its going to be sunny. My plan is to just pack for every type of weather I just hope there is no snow. It's official I'm going to New York! I payed for my plane ticket and hotel yesterday. I'm so excited *and to be honest a little nervous* for this trip. We leave on the 26th of March. The first hurtle has been jumped. Now to go threw the next hoop. Paying for the food, sight seeing, and shopping. I've asked for more hours at work between now and the day my flight leaves. I am praying that I get more than just 10 hours a week. A friend of mine is letting me do a days work around her house for some money. But I still need some help I am keeping my go fund me open. I don't need the full 2000 that the page is asking for. Anything you can donate and I mean anything would help out SO much. I mean hey 10 bucks could get me a slice of pizza. I don't like begging but this would help out tremendously. Please click here and donate. Please don't just share the page I really could use the help. This weekend my oldest niece *who is 26* is getting married. I can't wait to stand beside her as one of her bridesmaids and watch her marry the man of her dreams. I got to have one of those rare close relationships with my niece. We grew up together I got to see her become a kick ass women and mother and now I get to watch her become a wife. I'm very happy for her. I'm currently revamping the website. I really like the new theme I have going. One of the things I plan to do is bring back the baking section. That has always been one of my favorite parts of the website. Keep a look out for new cookie, cupcake, and copycat recipes very soon. When I go to New York I'm bringing my Eiffel Tower along with me to take some Paris In My Pocket pictures, as well as taking pictures everywhere we go on the trip of people places and things. I will be vloging the whole trip as well so keep an eye out for that as well. On that note I hope everyone has a great week. XO That One Girl
I'm not one to ask for help with certain things, I normally like to do things on my own. Unfortunately this is something I haven't been able to do on my own. For those of you who don't know I am the publicist for the Centralia College Theatre Club. This year the Theatre Club is sponsoring a Spring Break trip to New York. We will be seeing a Broadway play as well as going to places like Brooklyn, The MOMA, Greenwich Village among other things, New York has been a dream of mine sense I was little. I've always wanted to see Time Square and find the Alice In Wonderland statue in Central park as well as see a Broadway play, The down payment for this trip is 900 dollars. My hours have been cut way down at work. I'm currently trying to get another job before the trip, but so far I haven't had any luck. We have to pay the 900 by February 25th. If I can't get the money in by then I will not be able to go on this trip. I started a Go Fund Me page before Christmas to help raise money so I can go on this trip. So far I haven't been too successful with it. I'm writing this to ask if anyone in the That One Fam can help donate to my trip. You don't have to donate a huge amount what ever you could give I would be so grateful for. When I am on the trip I plan to vlog the whole experiences and share it on YouTube as well as my blog so that it will be just like you were on the trip with me. I will take tons of pictures as well as Paris In My Pocket pictures. I have so many plans for that series. The Eiffel Tower at the Statue of Liberty,On the top of the Empire State Building, In Time Square, At the Theatre etc. Paris Takes New York. Would be so much fun to do, This trip doesn't happen often. Most of my friends from the Theatre Club will be graduating this year and I would love to be able to have this experience with them.It would be the trip of a life time and a dream come true. There are only 20 people who can sign up for to go and the spots are filling up fast. Please help me tick this off my bucket list. It would mean so much if you could donate and pass along my Go Fund Me page and help me encourage others to donate as well. Please click here to donate. Thank you. XO That One Girl
I have been meaning to write this blog post for the last couple days. I just didn't know how to start. The thing is I'm really bad at asking people for help with anything, but this time I can't do this all on my own so here goes... Some of you might know that for the past year an a half I have been the publicist of the Centralia College Theatre Club. This school year for Spring Break the Theatre Club has a chance to go to New York and see a Broadway play. We would be there for 5 days and 4 nights. The catch is that I have to pay for everything out of pocket. This includes:
Going to New York is something I have wanted to do sense I was really little. It is one of my Bucket List places to go. The play I would be getting to see if I can go is Harry Potter and The Cursed Child. You guys all know how much I LOVE Harry Potter. I have been dying to see this play ever sense it first came out. To help raise money I have started a Go Fund Me page. It would really mean a lot to me if you guys could please donate anything you can as well as share the page and this blog post. I plan on Vloging the whole trip so it will be like taking you all along with me. If you would like to donate or just share the page click here like I said it would mean a lot. Thank you. Hey guys, I hope everyone is having a fun and safe summer so far.I can't believe we're almost half way threw already. Although I actually like going to school and am looking forward to my fall classes I'm enjoying this break. So far most of my summer has been spent working. I'm currently trying to save up for a bridesmaids dress for my nieces wedding. I am so happy and excited for her. We're going dress shopping in August so keep an eye out for some updates.
This past 4th of July was a semi quite and small one at home with my family. Unfortunately while doing the afternoon dishes I hit the side of our porcelain sink with a coffee cup. The cup cracked in half my pinky slid down the broken part of the cup. Basically filleting the outer part of my pinky I ended up in the ER getting my finger glued back together. On a happier note I have started writing again. I 'm working on a new book titled "The Voices From The Greenroom" I have been toying around with this idea for a few months now and recently got bit by the inspirational bug, The idea for the book came from hanging out with friends in the greenroom at the college this past year. I sent a message out to our group chat asking if it was ok with everyone if I could use them as inspiration for my characters. Disclaimer: This story is inspired by actual events and people. But is not a biographical story. The names, locations, and events have been changed. It is purely just inspired by a group of friends, I am not sure yet whether I will be posting any of the book on here. Maybe sometime down the line, but for now I'm keeping to myself and my friends of course. Who by the way have all signed off on the idea and are all actually really excited to see how it all unfolds. XO That One Girl Summer is finally here and new things are coming to the blog. It's taken me forever just to write this blog post. I didn't know how to start it. I'm not going to make any excuses on why I haven't been on here I will promise to keep it up to date more. I'm not so sure I want to keep the new Coffee Break banner. I kinda want to go back to the original one. One thing I know I will be keeping is the new home page. I don't normally like putting pictures of myself on here. I normally like being behind the camera rather than in front. Speaking of being behind the camera I recently did a small photoshoot with my mom as her Mother's Day gift I finally had time to edit them and post them. She looks really pretty. If you want to see more from this shoot click here. I have a few Me Myself and I posts I want to put up and some recipes I've been holding onto for the baking section. I'm also planing on doing some new videos so keep an eye out. I know this blog isn't big and exciting but hey at least its something haha.
Xo That One Girl I hope everyone has had a great start to the new year so far. I'm not sure how long this post is going to be. I just wanted to come on here and give you all a small update on what has been happening in my life. This month got off to a good start. I had my birthday and started the Winter quarter at the college. Classes are going great so far. I'm really excited about my intro to play writing class. We have to write a 10 minute play and then present it to the public.
Unfortunately this month hasn't been all that great. Shortly before Christmas my aunt was diagnosed with cancer. About a week ago she ended up in the hospital the cancer has turned fatal. I'm not going into anymore detail because this is part of my close personal life and I don't want to plaster it all over the internet. I just wanted to let everyone why I had taken a break from the page. I am not posting this to be some woe is me feel sorry for me person. I am simply giving an update. I don't want you all to think I just up and left the page. I really do want to do more on here this year. I plan to post my 10 minute play when I finish it. Although that won't be for a couple weeks from now. Until then I hope you all have a wonderful rest of this 3 day weekend. XO That One Girl |
